EffectDesign provided projection engineering services to MSNBC to facilitate their need for visually compelling, versatile media displays. Our solutions had to 'read' on live television, with vibrant color and high contrast. A pseudo-3D quality was part of the design as well, providing dynamic depth to flat surfaces.

Over the course of six months we collaborated with the studio re-design team to produce custom projector rigging, projection optical and media format adjustments along with general media design. The large cylindrical projection screen required special projection lenses and unusually formatted media to achieve sharp, undistorted graphics.

Image towers presented styled graphics according to the desired studio motif. An art director could change the mood of the entire studio through electronic media updates. This technique is now being incorporated in to current day scenic applications such as award events and corporate theater productions.
