Several years before EffectDesign was founded, Accentric Networks, a San Diego internet service provider wanted to present their 'global reach' ad campaign within a very compact exhibit. At first glance they wanted their marketing message; "We are everywhere in your universe" to be perceived through a single image. Geoff Puckett suggested a design which capitalized on the unused space above the exhibit. His concept called for a brilliant spiraling galaxy image which would be seen from across the exhibition floor.
Using a standard scenic projector capable of high brightness output, this exhibit/special effect concept fit comfortably within the client's $250,000 budget. Fiber optics were planned to provide ancillary lighting within the touch screen modules and back wall displays. Standard light fixtures within and on top of the logo tower would illuminate various elements.
In the fast-paced world of late 1990's internet startups, Accentric was purchased by a larger telecommunications company before this design could be realized.
